Northern gannet
The Northern gannet is the largest seabird in the North Atlantic, easily identified by its white plumage, black wingtips, and yellowish head. They are famous for their spectacular hunting technique, plunge-diving into the ocean from heights of up to 30 meters to catch fish at speeds reaching 100 km/h. These social birds typically nest in massive, dense colonies on steep coastal cliffs and remote rocky islands.
